NGC'S ORIGIN
After the Heroscape: Age of Annihilation Haslab campaign failed to fund in fall of 2022, New Generation Customs was begun to make the Age of Annihilation designs playable by providing 3D-printable alternatives, filling in the 'missing' card designs for the unrevealed figures designed by Avalon Hill and the 'War Council' of community members they worked with, and to expand into new space for 3D-printed custom figures in the Heroscape community.
NGC
Where is the project now?
Although we completed several designs in our first few waves to fill out the 'missing pieces' of the Heroscape: Age of Annihilation set revealed by Avalon Hill, in June 2023 it was announced that Renegade Game Studios had acquired the license to Heroscape and would bring the Age of Annihilation line of figures and content to retail shelves.
While we believe there is ample opportunity for 3D-printed customs within the Heroscape space, this made the primary goal of our first few waves unnecessary, and with several key members departing the project, in February 2025 the decision was made to put NGC on an indefinite hiatus.
What's next?
You can still play with NGC designs! There are two categories of NGC figures - normal and 'concept'. Normal figures encompass our original content, and are reflective of the intense playtesting and design process that NGC put them through. Figures labelled as 'Concept' include our iterations of existing Age of Annihilation figures as well as untested or unfinished content. We do not recommend these for tournament use.
If you're interested in getting involved with NGC, you can always join us in our Discord Server to discuss future opportunities for the project.
